Disc Conditions

Disc treatments require an in-depth understanding of the musculoskeletal and neurological systems. Dr Hanson D.C. D.A.C.N.B. has extensive postdoctoral training as a Board Certified Diplomate in Chiropractic Neurology. This includes comprehensive studies in peripheral nerve and spinal cord pathology and their connections to disc injuries such as: bulges and herniations that can result in Radiculitis, Neuritis, Sciatica, Disc Herniation, Disc Bulge, and Foot Drop. Over twenty one years of practice, he utilizes Neurological Rehabilitation, Non Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression, Non-rotational Specific Lumbar Joint Mobilization, Targeted Spinal Shunt/Stabilizer Therapy, Cold Laser, Tendon Ligament and Muscle Stimulation, Stretching, Strengthening, nutrition and lifestyle habits. Discs do not have normal blood circulation or supply like the rest of our bodies. Most discs can heal with conservative treatment, but may require surgery if atrophy or wasting of the muscle (particularly the calf muscle) occurs. In order to activate these areas, they need movement to receive nutrients through diffusion, ingesting fluids from the surrounding tissues, much like a vacuum. Dr Hanson can help with this process through non-invasive, non-drug treatments to help return normality and allow healing of the condition.
